Project Description

As part of CJCT’s framework agreement with GE, the Practice designed and delivered a 80,000 sqft fit out for the GECAS group.

CJCT were tasked with developing a detailed due diligence study to establish the viability of two potential buildings to house the GE CAS and GE SES businesses. Having selected a preferred building, CJCT worked with the Client and developer to carry out key Tenant enhancements to the shell & core.

CJCT then designed and delivered the fit out to a demanding timescale. The client comprised 17 separate business groups each with varying briefs and requirements and the development of the final layout was achieved through a series all-staff presentations and questionnaires as well as one-on-one stakeholder interviews.

The resulting design has a higher than average proportion of closed office spaces and significant economies were achieved by working closely with furniture manufacturers to design bespoke, built in office furniture configurations that permitted a 30% reduction in office size, thereby opening up more of the perimeter and allowing greater daylight penetration into the space. In addition, the reduction in office size gave more space for ancillary areas, including break out, conference areas, gym, library and full commercial restaurant and deli.
