Project Description

The 1500 space car park replaces the previous station surface car park increasing facilities to suit Network rails expansion plans and development traffic. Sited adjacent to the main East Coast main line the building will form a spectacular arrival feature when entering Wakefield by rail.

The value per space is approximately £7,500, offering an economic solution to the parking for the overall Westgate scheme.

Finished to ‘Park Mark’ standards, the structure is a galvanised steel frame with pre-cast planks and concrete topping deck. Elevations are an anodised aluminium vale to the ground floor and gable ends with polyester powder coated panels to the primary elevations. The use of graphite grey and vibrant cadmium yellow recalls the sites railway history and adds a contemporary and striking building in this historic part of Wakefield.
