Project Description

The Snow Hill Wharf development at Shadwell Street proposes to regenerate the current FGF factory site into 404 high quality private apartments with accompanying private gardens and communal facilities including concierge, gymnasium and residents lounges.

Snow Hill Wharf comprises of five new residential buildings ranging between 3 – 21 storeys with a mix of dwelling types and sizes ranging from 1 bed studio apartments to 3 bed duplexes and penthouse suites. Layouts have been designed to create high quality apartments with good levels of privacy and light and exceed the national space standards.

The buildings have been designed to create frontages to both Shadwell street and Lower Loveday street whilst being respectful to the surrounding townscape including St Chad’s church to the south east end of Shadwell street.

Facade treatments including brick choice, metal panel designs and detailing have been carefully considered and designed for each building to take on the character of the site and maintain the gun quarter aesthetic.

At street level you enter the development via glazed link buildings or large format perforated metal sheet gates with visual connections made from street level to the podium level courtyards.

Three large private residential courtyards have been designed on the podium deck between buildings. Each landscaped garden has its own character and sense of place. The gardens also provide a backdrop to the canal from the towpath.
