Hampton Court Palace

Gardner Merchant

Refurbishment & Architectural Design

£2 million

Project Description

With Gardner Merchant, CJCT refurbished and redesigned the restaurant at one of the Country’s best known Royal Palaces - Hampton Court.

Initial research for this project revealed that one of the earlier buildings on the site had been an elegant period tearoom and so, with the full support of English Heritage and the Royal Palace, CJCT recreated an Edwardian atmosphere as a much more comfortable foil to the surrounding historic architecture.

CJCT managed this sensitive scheme over a period of 12 months with extra care taken to respect the Listed fabric. Using warm and inviting materials combined with feature lighting, CJCT was able to create a light and airy feel to the interior which proved to be highly popular with both staff and public alike.
