Hove Gardens Handover

Just ahead of the Christmas Deadline, the Hove Gardens scheme reached practical completion on the 15th of December. Created for our client Watkin Jones Group, the scheme delivers an excellent BtR scheme in Brighton and Hove with 216 new homes and 20,000 sqft of commercial space in a local landmark opposite Hove station.

The design of the scheme puts great emphasis on providing a high quality environment, internally for residents and also externally at street level, creating active frontages on all four sides of the site and injecting life onto a previously neglected plot near the station.

The facade design has derived from the local building typologies within the Hove area. The narrow, slender forms are evident throughout the wider context and have informed the architectural vernacular of the scheme which is also carried through into specific details and material choices. A pre-cast façade system integrating brick, stone and terracotta elements enables a rich composition of materials with an efficient method for delivery.

Expertly constructed by RG Group, the scheme is designed to meet the high standards on health and wellbeing, energy efficiency and resilience to climate change as set out in the BRE Home quality Mark.
