Is Friday the 13th a good day for Building Handover? In this case it was, as our project for Crown House in Barking has successfully achieved Practical Completion and was handed over by McLaren Construction to BeFirst after we achieved planning permission in 2020 followed by two years on site.
This completes phase I of the Crown House redevelopment site and provides 169 affordable and shared ownership homes in a vibrant location close to Barking station. Clad in an elegant mix of London stock and brown coloured bricks, the scheme employs an innovative construction technique with pre-fabricated façade elements that saw 3 x 5m completed sections of cladding and windows lifted onto the frame with great results for economy, quality and appearance.
Working with a determined team to get this fantastic project built, we’re already looking forward to implementing phase II soon.
